Maybe she scores for every cat aboard over 15, or she might score off of every lesson you play. Based on your chosen difficulty level, your sister also gets 3, 4 or 5 lessons of her own, that score based – yet again – on your behavior. The more cards get revealed, the more you can predict which colors are best for you. The score per cat is the opposite of the round number – cards of color X are worth 5 points if they were revealed in round 1, but only 1 point if they’re revealed in the last round. Every round, you flip a card with a color on it that says how many points your sister scores for your cats of a certain color. Your little sister doesn’t have her own boat but scores based on yours. The solo mode works without too much upkeep. ![]() In a multiplayer game, public lessons are there for everyone – in solo play, those are only there for you, but only grant you half the points. Your scoring cards are called lessons, which there are in both the personal and public variety. So on one hand you want a lot of baskets, but not too much since there won’t be enough fish left to lure cats with. You need to manage your fish carefully, though this is also your means to lure said cats into said baskets. The cards you keep are added to your hand. You get 20 fish at the start of each round, which you use to buy cards to keep – each card has its own price. You end up with a hand of seven cards – but you’ll still need to pay for those! Your main currency is fish. In the solo mode, there is a similar way of selecting cards to keep. For multiplayer, you draft cards together with your opponents. A permanent basket is a pricy investment, but it could be worthwhile.Ĭrafting an effective hand is key in this. You can only catch as much cats as you have baskets each round. ![]() You start the game with one permanent basket, but you can get more (either temporary baskets or more expensive permanent baskets). (My sister does like cats, so that figures.) You score points by catching cats, and you catch cats with baskets. Your goal is to score more points over five rounds than your AI opponent – your ‘sister’. Furthermore, you are trying to achieve goals – which come from some of the cards you’ll be playing from your hand. You are trying to fill up your ship and its rooms with as much cats as possible while trying to ‘connect’ cats of matching colors (families).
